El Don del Don

This post is from my good firend and roommate Don Benjamin White. That is why the title is so called el don del Don or the gift of Don. This is just the thoughts about the world from this great thinker. If you do not understand the humor that is ok very few people do. You may not want to even waste your time reading it. And now i give you the great mind of D. Benjamin White.

First of all, may I just say what a wonderful opportunity it is for me to be included in the inverted chasm. For the past two minutes, this has been a lifetime goal of mine that I am very happy to say was achieved.
I want to pay tribute to something that has shaped my life considerably. Something that has always been a constant. Ever since the time I was 10 years old this has been right there for me. Whenever other constants in my life have faltered, this one has been right there by my side. I have always been able to count on my lovable, story-telling pal, Wishbone.
Sadly, a tragedy has occurred. Sunday morning, I went to the TV at 11 am, just like always to escape the problems of the day and drown my sorrows in a nice episode of wishbone. I was anxious in anticipation for what episode would come today. Well, Wishbone was gone. He wasn’t there today. He had been replaced by some jerk who was talking about the economy and how we went wrong. This I found to be extremely ironic. Some jerk who destroyed everything that was good and consistent is wondering where we went wrong?
But, as usually is the case, this story has a happy ending. Thankfully, Wishbone is still shown Tuesday-Friday at 1:30. There is still hope for humanity! Luckily, we can all still “shake a leg”, “wag another tale” and “sniff out an adventure”.
Speaking of adventure, have any of you seen the movie “Journey to the Center of the Earth” with Brendan Fraser. I have to admit, I am a fan of movies where there is no killing people, so I liked this one. Nevertheless, if you took any science classes beyond the sixth grade, this movie will be absolute LUDACRIS. I thought it was awesome that people could walk on thin ground and not have it break, but when a diamond fell on it, it shattered. Also, there is a scene where the young boy in the story must cross a magnetic field on a bridge of rocks that are suspended in midair. Somehow, this kid is able to generate enough force to push certain (not all) rocks forward to get where he wants to go. Despite that it is a pretty good show.
Have you ever just had the urge to scream? I think most of us have. Sometimes, no matter what you do, things go wrong. I have found the ideal antidote for this problem. When this happens to me, I just go up to some unsuspecting person and say “STRESS STRESS PANIC PANIC” in an extremely desperate voice. They will look at you like you have lost it (and who are you kidding, you have) and its pretty funny. Guaranteed to brighten your day.
I just love catchy songs. At the moment, I am listening to Nena and her 80’s hit 99 red balloons in German. Yeah, I mean, its about total nuclear destruction, but still, this is one of those you just cant help but crank up loud in your car. Same goes for Hanson and mmmbop.
Well, I better wrap this up. I am sure that no one is reading at this point. If I could leave you with one valid point, it would be to recognize how wonderful the people around you are. Tell them you love them more often, even if you want to throw them out of a window sometimes.

My Trip To Wally World

This was a date that I went on. We finished dinner really fast so we decided to go to Wal-Mart because that is the coolest place in cedar city.

The trip to Wal-Mart was a little cramped because there were 6 of us and only 5 seat belts so I being the largest was demoted to the back of the jeep it was a very uneventful drive. I love cedar city in small towns you can get away with anything.

Oh look a friendly Wal-Mart greeter, man they are so nice

They have the game rock band set up for anyone to play. I love rock band!

I just love the five dollar movie bin. Sometimes you have to dig deep to get the good stuff.

Can I have one of those?

This brought back lots of memories and some of them were not the best. You can’t tell but this is menudo or in English cow stomach, thus the expression of disgust.

This has become a favorite pass time of mine and I am becoming very adept at riding the shopping carts.

Well there you have it my wonderful trip to Wal-Mart.

Frisbee Fun

Now ultimate Frisbee is a sport that is played with a Frisbee. (if you needed to know that I am very disappointed in you). It was a sport that was started because of the ingenious invention of the Frisbee by William Russell Frisbie in the 1870's. He was a baker that made pies and people got the idea to throw the pie tins and thus Frisbee was born. I have been playing Frisbee for about 5 years but it was my first year at SUU that I really got into it. Now I am a proud member of the SUU Frisbee militia, which is the college club team here at Southern Utah University.

Zion Curtain Classic

We are at the Zion curtain Classic, which is a tournament that was hosted by the University of Utah. We did ok at this tournament we only won one of the three games that we played. The university of Utah won the tournament and we lost to them by two the score was 15 to 13 it was a great game.

This man is one of my role models in the realm of ultimate Frisbee this was truly a “bad Bum Play” Wow what a sight to behold.

Utah Summer Games

So you may have heard that Ultimate Frisbee is a noncontact sport I beg to differ. This picture was taken about 2 minuets after I got headbutted in the face. I think that I broke my nose because i t was a it was not as stright as it used to be. Needless to say I lost this bout with my teammate.
At the Utah summer games we were told that we were the most enjoyable team to watch play. As you can see form this picture we are very exciting to watch play. We have coined very essence of ultimate Frisbee, DIVE, DIVE, and DIVE.
